It is the courtyard of the ancient Santa Maria della Scala hospital, in the heart of Siena, that hosts the large installation Path to the Sky by Jacob Hashimoto. Presented as part of the exhibition of the same name, open to the public until September 30 2025, the site-specific work by the American artist transforms a historic space of what is now a museum complex into an unprecedented visual journey. Visitors’ gaze is drawn upward to admire the majestic installation, an impressive seventeen meters high and composed of a multitude of Japanese paper kites.
